To achieve maximum loads the installation process needs to be carried out as follows: | |
---|---|
![]() | 1. Drill hole in the substrate, using drill of correct diameter, ensuring the hole is deep enough to accommodate dust caused by threading action. Drill hole perpendicular to substrate and ensure bit is not excessively worn. |
![]() | 2. Remove any loose dust from the hole. |
![]() | 3. Screw in the Thunderbolt with socket wrench. Apply a slight downward pressure to start the self-tapping action. |
![]() | 4. Tighten the Thunderbolt until the fixture is in place. If resistance is experienced while tightening, unscrew one turn and re-tighten, ensuring not to overtighten with excessive torque. |
![]() | 5. For optimum performance, a torque wrench should be utilised. Do not exceed tightening torque shown in the setting detail chart (for max. tightening torque into brick or block, contact the technical advice line). |
Key Features
Thread design ensures secure anchorage into various substrates
Full-thread engagement provides safe, consistent holding power
Non-expanding thread allows close-to-edge and near-joint fixings
No preload required—maintains position without expansion pressure
Single-thread design for maximum insertion torque
Balancing thread ensures accurate alignment with the drilled hole
One-piece fixing simplifies installation and reduces overall cost
Compatible with standard drill sizes
Easily removable thanks to specialized threading system
